SBBM series 2021 - Volunteer sought
« am: Oktober 21, 2020, 08:59:43 »
Hi all,

I am seeking a volunteer to pick up the leadership on the SBBM Series 2021 coordination.  This person does not need to be a RumBBL person, but should be a mature and established luminary of the SBBM circuit.

What is required?

  • coordinate with the tournament organisers the schedule
  • coordinate the series pins with the NAF
  • coordinate trophies for individual events
  • update the SBBM website with the results
  • further promote the series

With minimum effort it is only a couple of hours per month over the year, with a little extra effort in the setup based on your ambition.  I'll be around virtually to support the initial introduction and with any bugs you run into along the way.  You can of course do more than I did with the 2020 light edition!

Let me know if you're up for the challenge, and feel free to direct potential candidates to this post.

Long live SBBM Blood Bowl!

James

A few questions for understanding:

- coordinate with the tournament organisers the schedule:
That means I ask them when it takes place. And I keep track that there are not two tournies on the same day. Thats it, correct?

- coordinate the series pins with the NAF
I am not sure what that means. What is a "pin". Each tournament needs to register at its own with NAF, does it? And we even had non-NAF tournies if I remember correctly. What action is needed?

- coordinate trophies for individual events
What does that mean? Who produces them? Still Thorsten? So coordination would mean getting them painted (i.e. making some others paint them :-) ) and shipping them in time. Anything else?

- update the SBBM website with the results
I assume I could use something like your file and you could give me an intro. I liked the simplicity of your file. Not fancy, but perfectly does the job.

- further promote the series
Ok, this one even I do understand :-)

As you can see I am tentatively interested in taking over. I just need to understand some details before I would sign up.
And I dont want to deter other interested people. I am happy if somebody more motivated (the bar is low) and more IT-fluent (the bar is lower) than me does it... And/or maybe one that attends more SBBM tourneys than me :-)

I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge:

That is correct, but it actually is trickier than you'd think.... most probable collisions are between Thundergnome/B7/Nuremberg-tourney and Krampusbowl/Rosenbowl.... and Rosenbowl/SBBM-Cup

You need to "apply" by the NAF in the NAF-Forum in section tournament series by posting the rules for the series. There is a document where this is described on the NAF site (not the members site, but the homepage). Every year the NAF hands out pins for the first three places of the final standing in the series. Each coach has to register their tourney as normal on the NAF site. All tourneys MUST be NAF-tourneys. I don't think we ever had a non-NAF-tourney in the series.

First of all: for Nuffle's sake, learn on how my name is spelled! The markers were produced by Tabletop Art. In the first years I made them myself. in 2019 the SBBM-Club paid for them (through membership fees). In 2020 James paid for them (thanks James). For 2021 it is up to the organizer how he will handle it.

If you have a webspace you can host it there and I can put in a link on the SBBM-website.

That means you need to attend every tourney in the series at least once  :D

Lol, I actually went back and changed it from Torsten to Thorsten. Two different spelled T(h)orstens in the SBBM overflows my memory. With regard to memory, also see my comment that I thought we also had non-NAF tournies in the SBBM :-)

No idea about that. But I sense a project for my son here..

In Covid times, maybe they offer Zoom attendances  :-)
For that reason I am afraid that the SBBM series will not be very extensive aynway. I hope I am wrong. I am just wainting for the cancellation of the Ghost Bowl ... fingers crossed.

ok, James, I volunteer in case nobody else does. And what did the trophies cost? Actually its good not too bad that if I pay for them, then its easier to force other people to paint them since I did already did my part :-)

Topaz - congratulations, you have the job!  I'm super busy right now starting a new job of my own, but will get in touch with you (ideally this weekend) to talk through the details (and actually we can kick-off half the 2021 work to collect the schedule).

Thanks Tojurub for the clarifications.  :)

Anmeldung Turniere … nicht Spieler … und auf der Seite steht das auch noch nicht klar genug.
Aber summary. Bescheid geben wenn ein Turnier geplant ist dann kann ich das pro-aktiv aufnehmen.
Also nicht SBBM Cup sondern ist SBBM Serie … is kompliziert :-)
Stelle das auf Seite noch klar am Wochenende
